Our Citizens of the Month tree in the front hallway of Lincoln School is in full bloom with the monthly positive character trait stars! The year-long character trait initiative concluded in May. The traits reinforced each month were: courage, perseverance, honesty, mindfulness/kindness, gratitude, optimism and open-mindedness. Gr. 2 Community Gardens Yield Delicious Results
This year, Lincoln second graders visited Richfield Farm and Garden Center in Clifton to learn about planting. Each student received a seedling to plant in the two second grade garden plots on the side of the school. Due to a rainy Spring, the gardens grew bountifully. Ms. DeBouter's and Ms. Frietag's students made a huge salad of kale, celery, lettuce, and assorted herbs. Third grades were the first grade to enjoy today’s hot and perfect weather for Tar Beach. Grades 1 and 2, as well as the PreK classes, will have their turn in the coming days. Energy radiated throughout the building when K Center kindergarteners visited Lincoln School today!
