As Mother's Day approaches in the United States, kindergarten students are learning about a similar holiday celebrated in South Korea. 어버이 날 (Eobeoi Nal) is South Korea's Parents' Day that honors mothers and fathers. MEC Presents Trash to Treasure
The Meadowlands Environment Center (MEC) zoomed into the Kindergarten Center on Tuesday, April 27th, to present Trash to Treasure: Environmental Explorers Make Compost! Mr. Kirk shared a story of a child learning about composting for the first time followed by opportunities to explore decomposing organic matter (leaves), observe live pillbugs and create seedling pots from recycled newspapers. This exciting collaboration with the MEC was brought to our students by the Kindergarten Center PTA!
