Back to School Night will be held on Wednesday, September 22. I am pleased to be able to welcome parents and guardians back into our classrooms again. In order to provide a safe, in-person experience, we will be following some different procedures than in past years.
As you prepare to visit our school building, please take note of the following:
The front doors (Wood Street) and the triple doors (by the playground) will be open at 6:40 p.m. Parents and guardians will go directly to their child’s classroom. There will not be a general meeting this year.
Our classroom teachers will begin their presentations at 7:00 p.m. sharp. At the conclusion of the presentations, parents and guardians should exit the building.
At approximately 7:40 p.m., the classroom teachers will host a second visit for parents who may have more than one child at Washington School. These additional classroom visits will be shorter in length, lasting 20 minutes.
Due to spacing concerns, we will only be able host one parent or guardian per child. We are simply not in a position to be able to safely open our classrooms.
The evening is for adults only. Children are not permitted to attend. This is particularly important this year with spacing concerns in mind. Please plan accordingly.
Back to School Night is intended to provide parents and guardians an opportunity to meet their child’s teacher, become more familiar with the grade-level curriculum, and learn specific classroom rules, procedures, and traditions. It is not an evening for individual conferences. If you would like to schedule a conference with your child’s teacher, you can make that request via email and a meeting will be arranged.
I thank you in advance for your cooperation, and I look forward to seeing a representative from each family next Wednesday evening.
