The Grade 3 students in Ms. Hetzel and Mrs. Podolanczuk’s class recently put their reasoning and creative skills to work, while discovering what makes a bridge strong. Through the Mystery Doug Science series, students viewed videos explaining the workings and designs of bridges. Students worked in pairs, using 2 pieces of paper and 50+ pennies in designing their own bridge. (2 large books were used as “banks” on the side of the bridge.) Our strongest bridge held 135 pennies! Pretty impressive. Students were excited and proud in
designing a bridge that worked!
