In honor of Fire Prevention Week, Fire Inspector, Mr. Mark Harrison, taught our students about Fire Safety. Spanish classes in grades 1-3 focused on 2 essential vocabulary words regarding fire safety: "salida" (exit) and "fuego or incendio" (fire). Washington School Welcomes “Mystery Readers”
Throughout the school year, teachers at Washington School invite "Mystery Readers" to come into the classrooms to read to their students. Mystery Readers are family members of the students who, during a designated date and time, come into the classroom to read. The "mystery" is that the student and their classmates do not know the person, date or time the Mystery Reader will be coming. Hoops & Goals
On Tuesday, October 3, students at Washington School participated in the annual "Hoops & Goals" fundraiser to benefit Alex's Superhero Fund, Inc. and the Andrew Ortega Foundation. Alex's Superhero Fund, Inc., is a foundation committed to providing financial assistance to local families who are caring for children with cancer and other terminal illnesses The fund also supports the Tomorrow's Children Institute.
