Students in Mrs. Mac-Doty’s Pop Culture elective visited with first grade students at Washington School to share original stories and poems. After studying the 1970s and the impact author Shel Silverstein had on the decade, students created poems and illustrations to emulate his style. Poems were compiled into books, which were shared with the first grade classes, and each first grade student received a copy of his or her own. A wonderful time was had by all!
