Reminder that the 3rd grade is participating in a bike safety and riding program on June 6 or June 7th. This program is donated by the Rutherford Green Team. The schedule is as follows:
Monday, June 6th-3K, 3P & ½ of 3F
Tuesday, June 7th-3B, 3M & ½ of 3F
If your child is in 3F your date is _____________________________.
Please remember to dress your child properly with sneakers and pants/shorts. Officer Ahearn will fit students for helmets prior to the event. These helmets will remain in school for the event.
If your child has a bike, please have your child bring the bike to school on your assigned day. Parents should either park and walk the bike to the Vreeland driveway area or walk alongside as your child rides to school. The driveway will have cones with teachers’ names indicating where to park your bike. Bikes will be lined up in a straight line to allow for easy identification and access. There will be a Lincoln Staff member present in the morning to assist. If your child is riding their bike to school, they may bring their personal helmet up to the classroom. At dismissal, please collect your bike and walk your bike to the sidewalk before riding. Please be mindful of pedestrians.
We need some assistance this day from 9-11:45am. We are looking for parent volunteers each day. If you are able to volunteer, please contact Mrs. Velechko. We are also requesting if you are able to share your bike on the day your class is not participating, please let Mrs. Velechko know. We are looking for 10 bikes.
This is a great opportunity for your child to learn bike skills or even to learn how to ride a bike. Students will participate in various stations throughout the day to learn these skills. If you have any questions, please call 201-438-7675 x6218.
