Lincoln School second grade students participated in an Election Unit during the beginning of November. Students took a survey to narrow down their desires to two important topics: longer recess or snack. Students created persuasive posters, wrote speeches about their desired topic, and created voting booths for election day. A Let’s Vote Pep Rally was held Monday. Speeches were presented, posters were hoisted, and there was heated debate! One election day, November 9th, all grade 2 students stepped up to the voting booths and cast their electronic ballots. By an overwhelming margin of 58.9% to 41.1%, longer recess won the day! There will be no run off.
