Lincoln School celebrated Read Across America Day/Dr. Seuss’ Birthday last week. NEA’s Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2nd, the birthday of beloved children’s author, Dr. Seuss. Oh, The Places You’ll Go, Dr. Seuss’ whimsical tale, was this year’s theme.
On Friday, February 27th students from RHS visited to read to classes and on March 2nd community members stopped by share their favorite children’s book. On March 9th, Ms. Mammone’s 2nd grade class was surprised with mystery reader Colin White, retired NJ Devil, and the New Jersey Devils mascot!
All our visitor/readers proved the saying,”You’re never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read with a child.”
