This month Lincoln School is focusing on the hard character trait- Perseverance. Perseverance is the ability to stick with a project or goal until it is complete. We are encouraging students to realize times may get tough and setbacks may occur, but they should keep working toward their goal. We also are discussing how people who persevere set goals such as learning to play an instrument, learning a new sport or learning a new academic skill. People with perseverance will practice, practice and practice to reach the goal; we don’t reach our goals by luck. Parents are encouraged to share their stories of perseverance and explain how they set goals in personal and professional lives. Parents may even want to set a goal for the family and then model how everyone persevered to reach the goal. Keep talking and sharing!
