This month Lincoln School is focusing on the hard character trait- Perseverance. Perseverance is the ability to stick with a project or goal until it is complete. This year more than ever we realize times may get tough and setbacks may occur, but you should keep working toward your goal. People with perseverance will practice, practice and practice to reach the goal; we don’t reach our goals by luck. Thomas Edison reached his goal of finding a filament for the light bulb. He failed many times, but he saw each failure as an opportunity to learn what would not work. Helen Keller persevered by learning to communicate with her fingers and palms when she could not see or hear and person of color. It always seems impossible until it’s done –Nelson Mandela
