e are celebrating Earth Day next week Tuesday, with a rain date of Wednesday. The butterfly garden in the Lincoln Woods is being planted, sign installed and the planting around the sign arranged.
Students will be assisting this day during the scheduled time below. Students will go to the Woods where they will assist in planting, watering, putting down wood chips or carrying the stepping stones. Please send in any empty water jugs, trowels, and gloves. Parents are invited during your child’s assigned class time; just meet us in the woods. Please dress down so you can play in the dirt! If we need to plant the next day on Wednesday, I will make schedule changes and email you.
This outdoor classroom space is coming along and I thank you for your donations and patience as the town and Shade Tree Committee worked to get the space ready by removing dead trees, pruning branches, digging out the path, making seating areas, installing weed mats, placing down wood chips, and of course having the goats reduce the poison ivy. The volunteers worked effortlessly and made this outdoor classroom space a reality. We plan on having the grand opening ribbon cutting before the end of the school year!
Happy Earth Day!
