This month Lincoln School is focusing on the hard character trait- Courage. You use courage when you are the first to try something or when you are frightened. You also use courage when you learn something new or try something that is complex. Being brave enough to make mistakes and learn from them every single day, takes great courage. It does not mean you are fearless. It means that even though you have fear, you still try your best. It isn’t easy to have courage. It takes hard work, inspiration and passion. There is joy from being courageous. If you try your best in everything you do and welcome some discomfort, you will find that you are living a life of courage. We will remind students of the courageous acts like going into space the first time, sailing on a ship headed to undiscovered lands or leading a protest for equal rights that changed the course of our country.
