First graders in Mrs. Russo and Mrs. Ratta’s class discussed Hanukkah traditions. Students made dreidels out of clay and sang a traditional song! Then children learned about the symbols which include nun, gimel, hay, and shin. Lastly, students played a dreidel game lead by Ms. Smith. Winner collected the most “coins!” Happy Hanukkah from grade 1! Ms. Smith visited classrooms as the Hanukkah Dreidel.
