The third graders became paleontologists this week in science. Each paleontologist received a section rock from Utah that contained a body fossil embedded deep within the rock. Their job was to uncover the body fossil, clean it, and sell it to a museum curator. The paleontologists discovered that after the body fossil was uncovered, a trace fossil was left in its place.
