We’d like to inform you that on Tuesday May 20th, your child will be involved in Lincoln School’s annual Field Day. The event will be held at Memorial Field and looks to be a fun filled experience for all involved. The agenda is a half-day of activities that will foster cooperation, sportsmanship, and positive skill development. It will also serve as a culmination of the skills and key concepts learned throughout the school year. Team t-shirts, compliments of the Lincoln School PTA, will be given to each student on the days preceding the event, to commemorate the day and aid in organization. Please note that no teams will be switched. Please be sure your child is dressed in their field day team t-shirt and prepared for physical activity. Please wear sneakers and shorts, not sandals and skirts, and leave all jewelry at home. Caps and sunscreen are also recommended for protection on a hot day. This year, all Lincoln School students will be provided with a pizza lunch, also compliments of the PTA. In addition, water and orange slices will be provided during lunch and in the many rest stations located throughout the park so please leave all personal water bottles at home. Students will begin traveling by bus to Memorial Park at 8:45am. First to Third grade students will be returning to Lincoln School by 1:30 pm for dismissal and 1:20pm for Kindergarten students. Again, Kindergarten students are reminded to arrive at the school by 8:45 am and will be dismissed at 1:20pm from the Lincoln Annex. The YMCA aftercare program will be providing service from 1:30pm until 6:30pm at Lincoln School. In the event of inclement weather, a determination will be made by the school staff as soon as possible. Please send your child prepared to participate regardless of the weather report.
