It’s hard to believe that we are halfway through the program! In addition to pre-assessing students, here is a quick peek at what the students accomplished the past few weeks. In kindergarten students recognized and learned the sounds of the letters A through N. They identified the numbers 1 - 6 and practiced counting numbers while making crafts. Summer Enrichment Academy Soars
Students soared through the second theme learning about flight. In Reading, students used their strategies to identify main idea, problem & solution, story elements, cause and effect, and non-fiction text features. Students collaborated to discuss facts learned about the Wright Brothers, Amelia Earhart, hot air ballooning and parachuting. Did you know that roosters and sheep were the first passengers to ride in a hot air balloon?? Summer Enrichment Academy Goes Under the Sea
This year Rutherford Public Schools introduced a Summer Enrichment Academy to provide students with academic experiences based on gifted and talented teaching principles. Students attend class from 8:30- 12:30 p.m. and engage in thematic units using hands-on exploration. Students investigate a topic for the week. The first topic, "Under the Sea" was a splash! Grade 3 Clap Out
Third graders walked the 'red carpet' on their last day at Lincoln School. Students were individually announced and walked the red carpet as parents snapped pictures and clapped.
