Research shows that students who have a large number of absences in the first few years of school are significantly more likely to be below grade level by the end of the third grade and also be behind their peers in social and emotional development as well. This gap continues to widen as the child continues in their school career. It is imperative that children are in school to collaborate and learn from their peers and teachers. The Rutherford Food Pantry needs: toilet paper, paper towels, dish detergent, laundry detergent, tooth paste, shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, razors and cleaning supplies.
