Visiting Community Helpers
As part of the Community Helpers unit, Mrs. Russo and Ms. Freitag's class visited the Police Station and the Mortimer Fire House. At the police station, the students learned about a day in the life of a police officer, were all sworn in as Junior Officers and given a full tour of headquarters. At the firehouse, students had the opportunity to learn about the tools and gear, how a firefighter prepares to put out a fire, explored the inside of the truck, and even squirted the fire hose!
