Spring provides tremendous amount of opportunities for learning. Here are a few ideas that may be helpful to keep children engaged while they are home.
-Take a walk and look for a bird’s nest.
-Record the daily weather and don’t forget, April showers bring May flowers.
-Count the number of buds on a branch in the tree.
-Discuss the lifecycle of a plant.
-Write about the lifecycle of a plant.
-Use color words to describe what you see. Now use Spanish color words.
-Tell someone about your favorite spring activity. Draw it.
-Name the 4 seasons and what you like/dislike about each one. Write an opinion piece why your favorite season is the best.
-Clean up the yard. Consider ideas if you had a garden or what you can do with your own garden.
-Have a picnic in your yard or on the living room floor. Have students help prepare.
-Think of words that rhyme with spring.
-Pick up a rock and look for worms.
-Consider a new outdoor spring activity/sport such as lacrosse, baseball, softball, birdwatching, outdoor yoga, or observing the clouds.
