‘New’ Kindergarten Parent Orientation was held on Wednesday, May 22, for those that are new to the Kindergarten Center. Information will be shared via emails throughout the summer. A summary of the evening’s presentation and additional resources are provided below. We hope you find this information useful and wish you a fabulous summer!
The Kindergarten Center’s lobby doors open at 8:30 and close at 8:45. Dismissal is at 2:35. Information regarding before and aftercare, Bulldog Care, will be sent to all registered families later this month. Registration is on a first come basis. Children have 2 options for lunch the month of September – bring a lunch from home (we do not heat lunches) or order through the district’s lunch service (information will be provided to parents in August.) PTA options will be shared in September and will begin in October. The Kindergarten Center will support your child’s academic, social, and emotional growth throughout the year. To better prepare your child for the start of the year, it is important to foster their independence as best you can. Opportunities for growth include self-help skills (self-care, dressing, opening and closing containers), communication (communicating needs, personal information-name, parents’ names) and social skills (increasing frustration tolerance, turn-taking, losing a game, playing a game a different way, waiting).
