RHS Academic Decathlon Takes 2nd Place in Regionals with 77 Individual Awards!

The Rutherford High School Academic Decathlon took 2nd place overall in the Regional Competition, garnering a whopping 77 individual awards! The team will now move on to states.  The State Championship is on Feb. 29th.

Some highlights:
Tierra Sherlock: 10 for 10, with an award in each category, including Gold in Speech Christina Scanlon: 8 out of 10, with Gold in Music and Art Matt Peeples: 8 out of 10, w/ Gold in Literature and Science, second highest scorer in his category. RHS is Victorious in Annual Spelling Bee

Rutherford High School was once again victorious in the annual Spelling Bee against Becton Regional High School.  Over the three-hour competition held on Wednesday, November 27th, students in the National Honor Society dazzled the audience with their spellings of such difficult words as: echelon, surreptitious, genealogical, velociraptor, machination, epicurean, gubernatorial, inquietude, and anticoagulant.  Congratulations to the students in both schools who participated.  The overall winning student was also from RHS.  Congratulations to Rian Chowdhury!
