Welcome Back! I trust that the holiday season was peaceful and relaxing for you and your families. As we turn the page on this New Year, we look forward to the next few months with great anticipation. The pace at each grade level is accelerating and the students are stepping up to meet new challenges.
Our Character Education program is in full swing. During the month of January, our students and staff are concentrating on activities that support the Pillar of Fairness. In February, our focus will be on the Pillar of Respect. Please read below about our “Color Days” that are part of this program and discuss these Pillars with your child(ren).
Our One School, One Book event provides the opportunity for us to share a unique reading experience as a school community. Sections of the book are assigned each evening for family reading. We have a short review each morning in our assembly. This year we are reading George Selden’s The Cricket in Times Square, a Newberry Honor book. This program has been very well-received in the past. Librarian/Media Specialist Mrs. Liberato and Librarian’s Assistant Mrs. Hebert organized the event with the support of our Washington School PTA.
Remember that you can receive updates to our website or calendar via email. Simply go to the upper right-hand side of our webpage and enter your email address.
I hope you enjoy the winter months, and I look forward to seeing you at upcoming school events. Please read on for more information about school activities.
Sincerely,
Bill Mulcahy
