May at Washington School
I hope you all had a wonderful spring break filled with sunshine, relaxation, and quality time with family and friends. As we head into our busy month of May, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on all that made April so special.
Discovery Day was truly a highlight. Our theme, “Reading Takes You to Places,” connected to both our character education focus and our State of the Week geography learning. It was inspiring to see students engaged and excited. Our first graders also made a lasting contribution to our school mural, adding their own handprints and literally leaving their mark on Washington School.
Looking ahead, May is both a busy and meaningful month. Our third graders will participate in the NJSLA assessments in English Language Arts and Mathematics. We are also excited to showcase our students’ talents during our Spring Concert and Art Show. In addition, we will come together as a school community for our annual Memorial Day Assembly, where we pause to honor and thank our local veterans for their service and sacrifice.
We look forward to a fantastic month of May filled with learning and celebration.
