Washington School
Halloween Activities
PTA Halloween Dance – Grades 1-3:
Friday, October 25, 2019 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Children are encouraged to wear **costumes. Each child must be signed in and out of the party by a parent. Enter through the triple doors for drop-off and pick-up. After signing your child out, exit through the single door adjacent to the PE office. Be prompt picking your child up at 8:00 p.m. No child will be released to the custody of another parent unless written confirmation has been provided to the PTA president. The chaperone list is complete at this time.
Halloween Parade – Pre-K 4, Full-Day Pre-K and Grades 1-3:
Thursday, October 31 at 1:30 p.m.
(In the event of rain, we will have a short parade in the multipurpose room, and parents will be able to enter between 1:10-1:25 using the single door that leads to the gym.)
Students will exit the school via the triple doors, walk down our driveway and make a left on Washington Avenue. They will continue to the corner of Wood Street making another left and proceed towards the main door where they will follow the pathway back to the driveway/playground. Please leave sufficient room in the driveway for students to walk toward the sidewalk.
Students should be dressed in their **costume when they arrive for school. At the conclusion of the parade, classes will gather in designated areas for a brief photo-op.
The students will participate in a classroom activity following the parade. Please do not send in treat bags. No candy will be distributed.
We all look forward to safe celebrations. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation!
**Remember, toy weapons of any kind are prohibited. Avoid excessively scary costumes, as they may frighten our younger students. Our Halloween celebration should be free of “blood, guts and gore”. For safety, please check the length of your child’s costume. Only masks that provide for adequate vision and are appropriate in nature will be permitted. No adult will be permitted to wear a mask at any of the events. If your child’s costume is deemed inappropriate, the child may be asked to take the offensive part of their costume off and/or may be prohibited from participating in our event.
