After NJSLA testing, grade 3 students participated in a lesson on seeds and planting, hosted by Computer Skills / Enrichment teacher, Ms. DeBouter. Mr. Charlie LoBello, a long-time Rutherford resident whose children attended Washington School, volunteered his time and expertise to engage the third graders in a hands-on lesson. Mr. LoBello and the Rutherford Shade Tree Commission contributed pots, soil, and seeds so that each grade 3 student could take home a potential plant. Many an excited third grader has reported to Ms. DeBouter that their seeds have sprouted, and they are growing!
