The second graders made slushies in science. They were exploring the phenomena that salt actually makes ice colder compared to a bag of just pure ice. When students placed their juice bag into the cold salt-water solution it absorbed the heat from the juice, turning it into a slushy. Students were very excited to enjoy the slushy results of their experiments.
