Discussing Honesty
This month Lincoln School is focusing on the hard character trait- Honesty. Honesty is the ability to be truthful about information, your talents/challenges and even the ability to be true to your values when no one is present. We will focus on discussions on how characters in stories sometimes are not honest and how this can lead to more discomfort. We also mentioned how it is important to be honest even though there may be a consequence. Perseverance
This month Lincoln School is focusing on the hard character trait- Perseverance. Perseverance is the ability to stick with a project or goal until it is complete. This year more than ever we realize times may get tough and setbacks may occur, but you should keep working toward your goal. People with perseverance will practice, practice and practice to reach the goal; we don't reach our goals by luck. Thomas Edison reached his goal of finding a filament for the light bulb. Teaching Children to be Courageous
As introduced in last month’s newsletter, this month Lincoln School is focusing on the hard character trait- Courage. You use courage when you are the first to try something. You use courage when you are frightened. You use courage when you learn something new or try something that is complex. Being brave enough to make mistakes and learn from them every single day, takes great courage. It does not mean you are fearless. It means that even though you have fear, you still try your best. Back to School Night Information
It has been an exciting start to the 2020-2021 school year as students and staff come together as a learning community! In place of the traditional in-person Back to School Night, your child's teacher will be creating a Welcome Back Video Message to provide parents and guardians a peek into their child's school day. This will be available on Tuesday, September 29th on the teacher's website. Information regarding daily routines, procedures, classroom expectations, and how to support your child at home will be shared.
