Students Celebrate Dr. Seuss
NEA's Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss. On Monday, March 4th students from RHS visited Lincoln and led activities that highlighted Dr. Seuss' work. Students also had guest readers from around the community. Students were visited by Town Council members, Board of Education trustees, EMT workers, Rutherford principals and supervisors, and town management personnel. Third Grade Concert Date Change
As you know, the weather this winter has been challenging and the students missed some music classes. In order to showcase our students' musical talents properly, we have moved the third grade concert. The concert will now be April 3, 2014 at 9 a.m. with doors opening at 8:50 a.m. We hope the snow will be melted by then so parking is a little easier as well. We know some parents/ grandparents may need to rearrange schedules to come to this new date and we thank you for understanding. We just want the students to feel confident in their show! Dear Parents and Guardians, Last year, we followed the journey of a china rabbit, Edward Tulane, as he learned to love others more than himself. This year we will learn about the world through the eyes of Humphrey, a lovable hamster whose adventures in the classroom and on weekend visits, give him a unique point of view on school and families. Thanks to the joint funding of both the Washington and Lincoln School PTAs we will once again be able share a reading experience as a whole school. PTA Valentine’s Party
Reminder that the PTA Valentine's Day Party is this Friday as well. In order to teach children to recognize that others may not be as fortunate, we are collecting items for the Rutherford Food Pantry. Children may bring an item to the Valentine's Party or bring an item to school the following week.
