Huge thanks to everyone for a great start to the school year! Our first morning drop-off line was a success thanks to your patience and support. It is important to be mindful that as with all things new, there is a learning curve, and we are here to help!
To keep our mornings running like clockwork:
- Have backpacks packed and ready to go before reaching the drop-off zone.
- Having your child’s booster/car seat on the passenger side and child safety lock off, allows children to exit the car more readily. (If this does not work for your family, parking and walking may be your family’s preferred means for drop-off).
- Do not have children on electronic devices in the car so they can exit quickly and are attentive to the staff overseeing drop off.
- Follow the flow of traffic and directives from the crossing guard and RPD. From Highland Cross, turn right onto Sylvan Street, pulling as far up as possible. Once stopped, any car on Sylvan is to have their child exit and walk north along the sidewalk to the entrance.
Staff is outside guiding students as they exit the cars and enter the building. During the first few days of school, the sidewalks are significantly more crowded and we ask that parents continue on their way and not crowd the sidewalk space or the front of the building. We also ask that you do not bring pets to drop off or pick up!
Thank you for working with us to make the start of the year safe and successful!
