Mrs. Parkinson’s kindergarten scientists explored a weather unit focused on observing changes in the weather. Through daily discussions and learning experiences, students built their understanding of how weather affects our world.
Students designed and decorated their own simple tools to observe the wind, incorporating spring-themed and wind-inspired artwork. This lesson highlighted both Critical Thinking and Creativity while helping students learn that wind is moving air that can push and move things around them.
Students then took their learning outside to test their Breeze Buddies in action and enjoy the spring weather. As they watched their creations move, the students used critical thinking skills to determine wind direction and decide whether it was calm or windy. Students were amazed to see the streamers blowing wildly in the wind.
This engaging activity brought science to life, allowing students to combine observation, problem-solving, and creativity as they explored the power of wind.
