The Rutherford Public Schools are excited to be moving into the forefront of curriculum design and lesson planning. We have partnered with the innovative team at Atlas and are in the first stages of transitioning our curriculum from Google Docs to a cloud-based platform that will allow teachers to see updates and changes in real time. A robust committee of 36 teachers and supervisors began the process in September and met with the team from Atlas on the October 14, 2024 professional day to study the best practices of curriculum design. This yearlong process will integrate our current instructional plans with refreshed objectives, assessments, and lesson plans. This will be a multi-tiered process that will ultimately allow teachers more structure and coherence as they create their daily lessons from the required curriculum components approved by the Rutherford Board of Education and tied to the New Jersey Student Learning Standards in all subject areas.
