Congratulations to Union Middle School students CJ Ackermann, Maia Floresca, Felice Kakaletris, and Alexandra Rodriguez Del Busto for their phenomenal performance as members of the 2024 MEBCI Bergen County Middle School Choir on Sunday, November 24th at Ramsey High School in Ramsey, New Jersey! 7th Grade UMS Students Create Community Mural
Seventh-grade students in Mrs. Collins and Mrs. Mac Millan’s classes recently completed a mural project following their reading of The War of the Wall by Toni Cade Bambara. This hands-on project served as a meaningful conclusion to a unit focused on the concept of belonging to a community. Throughout the unit, students explored how communities are defined by shared narratives, and how individuals contribute to the collective story. Unity Day is Wednesday, October 16. Wear and share ORANGE to send a visible message that no child should ever experience bullying.
Unity Day is an annual event occurring during National Bullying Prevention Month in October that promotes joining together to create healthier communities through kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. It was started by PACER's National Bullying Prevention Center in 2011 and is now celebrated around the world.
