Rutherford Public Schools is proud to announce that Mrs. Laura Clossey has been selected by the New Jersey Department of Education to sit on the Visual and Performing Arts Standards Implementation Committee. In her role as a committee member, Mrs. Clossey will use her expertise to review the proposed revised teaching standards in the visual and performing arts that will impact all students across the state. Additionally, her committee will identify implementation opportunities and challenges and provide recommendations to the NJDOE regarding the development of professional learning resources, instructional supports, implementation guidance, and other materials that support successful statewide implementation.
Mrs. Laura Clossey is the elementary art teacher in Washington and Lincoln Schools. She began her career in Rutherford in September of 1999 and thousands of students have been exposed to the wonderful world of art through her weekly classes where her enthusiasm for creativity truly shines. Her room is a beacon of individual expression as our youngest students learn to channel their creativity into wonderful works of art.
