Congratulations to the Rutherford High School Select Choir for their premiere performance at the New Jersey School Boards Association’s annual convention in Atlantic City. The choir is an auditioned group of singers that rehearses after school as well as during class time. It is led by Mrs. Patricia Blanchard who selects challenging repertoires for the students to learn throughout the year. This performance is one more feather in their cap as they recently performed at the Kennedy Library and Museum.
The NJSBA Convention’s theme of “Today’s Students … Tomorrow’s Superheroes” emphasizes the crucial role of education in shaping the future of our society. The students performed in front of a senior-level audience of school leaders, education professionals and influencers in New Jersey education as they gathered to study quality professional development; important legal, legislative, policy and funding updates; new products and services; and to celebrate public education.
