Parent Academy Presentation: Cool Calm and Collected

Thank you to CarePlus for an informative presentation on Wednesday, December 7, 2022.  The presentation provided parents with an overview of the adolescent brain and its effect on study and focus.  The evening also provided an opportunity for open dialogue among parents to discuss strategies and skills and the best practice to implement at home to help build self-reliance.
The Parent Academy will be presenting additional workshops in the winter and spring of 2023. Topics and dates will be shared following the new year.

Building Resilience and Independence in K-3 Children

Approximately 40 parents enjoyed a workshop entitled, “Building Resilience and Independence in K-3 Children”.  The session was part of the Second Cup of Coffee series at Washington School and the Rutherford School District’s Parent Academy.  The presenters were Ms. Emily Bregman, Student Assistance Counselor, and Mr. Bill Mulcahy, Principal at Washington School.  The second part of this presentation will be presented in March.  Details to follow.     … [Read more...] about Building Resilience and Independence in K-3 Children

Parents are  invited to attend another Care Plus Parent Academy presentation on Wednesday, December 7, at Pierrepont School.  The topic, Organization and Focus to Keep Your Student Organized, is intended for parents of those in Elementary-Middle School.  This presentation will begin at 7:30, immediately following the Pierrepont School PTA Meeting.
