Ferris Wheel Team Building Project
Mr. Viola Amusement Parks & Bridges The project was a whole-class project in which students had to logically construct the project from start to finish. UMS National Junior Honor Society
UMS National Junior Honor Society students offered their time to help the Rutherford Public Library with spring cleanup. Students spent several hours working in the library courtyard preparing it for a spring makeover so that patrons can enjoy the outdoor space. Read Across America day
In order to celebrate Read Across America day, several National Junior Honor Society students took a trip to Salomé Ureña Elementary School in Newark NJ to help 4th grade students participate in their first annual Literacy Fair. Our 8th graders presented students with the gift of literacy by donating some of their favorite books to their book buddies. They read with their students and helped them create literacy fair posters for them to share with their school community. A STEM experience to remember
Mrs. Herninko and several students from Union School welcomed 3rd graders from Washington School for a STEM experience to remember. The 3rd graders used zSpace to work with 3D models of animals and learn more about their adaptations. They were taught by our 3D printing team how to use TinkerCAD and all were able to 3D print their own personal keychains. Union School students instructed the 3rd graders on how to use the sewing machines. They visited with Mr. Helphingstine's robotics team and were able to drive the robots and compete with each other.
