The Rutherford Fire Department visited several schools in recognition of Fire Safety Week.  Taking the time to talk to your child about their school visit is a great opportunity to make school to home connections by discussing fire safety within the home! What is your family’s plan in the event of a fire? Are your smoke detectors working? Do you have a fire extinguisher in your home? If so, check the expiration date! (and do you know how to work it?)
