The second grade students took an in-house field trip to the Lincoln Woods. Ms. Ogden discussed all food chains begin with the sun and then move to a plant source.  Students made chlorophyll rubbings to emphasize this point.  Then under Ms. Ogden's guidance, students were placed in cooperative teams to hunt in the Lincoln Woods for herbivores and carnivores.  Students placed their collection into a food web.  Finally, all teams came together and interlinked the food chains.   The students had a fabulous learning experience!   Thanks to the PTA for sponsoring this activity. … [Read more...] about Second Grade Explores Food Chains
