County Executive James Tedesco has ordered the closing of all county public schools beginning Monday, March 16 in response to the rising numbers of COVID-19 in Bergen County. This is not a decision we take lightly, as we know the inconvenience it will bring, but we have been gearing up for this possibility and are solidifying plans to continue educating our students. Mr. Ersalesi, the supervisor of English and Arts for the Rutherford Public Schools, reads aloud to students each school day during virtual instruction. A good book can help transport kids (and adults) to other places and times! And sometimes a good book is just a lot of fun! Board of Education Meeting Monday, March 16, 2020
The Board of Education meeting planned for Monday, March 16 will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the High School cafeteria. However, the presentation by Parette Somjen Architects and EPIC Management will not take place. It will be rescheduled for the April 6 meeting. COVID 19 Plans
The New Jersey Department of Education has charged districts with developing plans for instruction at home in the event that the school district needs to close due to a public health-related matter. Over the past week, the Administrative team has collaboratively developed plans. The goal is to keep the teaching and learning moving forward without having significant breaks in instruction.
