Rutherford High School student, Kerry O'Keefe, is working with the Rutherford Public School District to educate students about the importance of recycling. Miss O'Keefe is currently working towards the Girl Scout Gold Award and has created activity books, posters and displays for students throughout the district.

RHS is Victorious in Annual Spelling Bee
Rutherford High School was once again victorious in the annual Spelling Bee against Becton Regional High School. Over the three-hour competition held on Wednesday, November 27th, students in the National Honor Society dazzled the audience with their spellings of such difficult words as: echelon, surreptitious, genealogical, velociraptor, machination, epicurean, gubernatorial, inquietude, and anticoagulant. Parent Academy Hosts Bar Modeling Workshop
Ms. Egar-Smith, a second grade teacher at Lincoln School, reviewed the bar modeling strategy with parents of students in elementary school. Ms. Egar-Smith reviewed the steps needed to solve a problem and then guided parents as they used bar models to solve word problems.
