Superintendent Jack Hurley’s legacy of leadership was celebrated during a plaque installation at Rutherford High School on June 2. The plaque was placed outside the principal’s office, where he worked for many years and influenced many students. The Board of Education and administrators honored Mr. Hurley for his 47 years (and counting) of contributions to the district, and for his 2025 NJ Superintendent of the Year award. Union Middle School 8th Graders Teach Math at Washington School!
This week, our first graders at Washington School had some very special guest teachers—8th-grade students from Union Middle School! As part of a cross-grade collaboration, the middle schoolers planned and taught engaging 30-minute math lessons on first-grade topics like addition, subtraction, telling time, and identifying shapes. The 8th graders did a fantastic job breaking down concepts, creating interactive activities, and keeping our young learners excited about math.
