Meet Ms. Francesca Mastropierro, Union Middle School’s 7th grade leave-replacement guidance counselor. Ms. Mastropierro’s counseling services focus on student academic and social emotional well-being, and her door is always open for students and staff. Ms. Mastropierro is also the advisor of the UMS Service Club. During the month of October, Ms. Mastropierro and the Service Club ran a “guess how many candy corn are in a jar” fundraiser with all the proceeds going to the Susan G. Meet Ms. Burcu Demirbulakli, or as the students refer to her, “Ms. D.” Ms. Demirbulakli started her education career in the district 12 years ago as a general education classroom assistant before moving into special education at Pierrepoint School. “Ms. D. is one of our most positive staff members, who is always spreading joy within the walls of her classroom and the school,” said Jessica Saxon, Pierrepont Assistant Principal. “She is respected by her students and fellow staff members who appreciate the enthusiasm she brings to work every day.
