RHS Academic Decathlon Takes 2nd Place in Regionals with 77 Individual Awards!

The Rutherford High School Academic Decathlon took 2nd place overall in the Regional Competition, garnering a whopping 77 individual awards! The team will now move on to states.  The State Championship is on Feb. 29th.

Some highlights:
Tierra Sherlock: 10 for 10, with an award in each category, including Gold in Speech Christina Scanlon: 8 out of 10, with Gold in Music and Art Matt Peeples: 8 out of 10, w/ Gold in Literature and Science, second highest scorer in his category. Excitement filled the Kindergarten Center the week of January 27th as students participated in THE GREAT KINDNESS CHALLENGE! Silly socks, crazy hair, class spirit and jersey day all promoted unique opportunities to empower the students to expand the culture of kindness.
