Meet Mr. Matthew Vaccaro, fourth-grade Pierrepont School math and science teacher, and drama club advisor. A smile from Mr. Vaccaro never fails at Pierrepont School. He not only brings a vibrant, genuine warmth and a lot of energy to his classroom of learners, he also walks the halls of Pierrepont School sharing positivity with his colleagues.
Students can count on Mr. Vaccaro to create an engaging classroom filled with fun and challenging activities. Although he delivers rigorous, engaging curriculum to his learners, Mr. Vaccaro is most successful in making connections with his students, even during hybrid learning. Mr. Vaccaro has created a classroom his students enjoy and, because of that, learning happens by default. From conversations in the classroom to a discussion on a mask break about TV shows and video games, Mr. Vaccaro goes above and beyond to provide an engaging environment for his students. On entering Mr. Vaccaro’s room, you may hear music being played to jumpstart the day, see him dancing with students to celebrate a math problem that is answered correctly, or maybe even witness him belting out a tune.
Mr. Vaccaro also is a key staff member in the drama department, where he has co-managed and directed the Pierrepont play for the past five years and has been involved in Rutherford district theatre productions for the past ten years.
Thank you, Mr. Vaccaro for all you have done and continue to do for your students and our school community.
