Meet Ms. Kim Huzzy, Pierrepont’s Student Assistant Counselor. Ms. Huzzy is a fan favorite among Pierrepont students, and is always willing to lend an ear and offer advice or assistance carefully with genuine compassion and care.
Ms. Huzzy has been a part of the Rutherford Public Schools district for the past 20 years
and helps students individually as they work on their social, emotional, and academic needs. Her guidance has steered many of our students to make healthy decisions and help them reflect on their feelings and choices overall. As part of her Insight Group Peer Program, she carefully groups students to help them form friendships and bonds that have grown and evolved over the years. The groups give students a safe outlet to share their feelings, emotions and experiences.
Ms. Huzzy also works closely with the administration to create and enforce character education programs and restorative practice programs with a strong effort to promote positive behavior within the school community. As a coordinator with Parent Education, she offers valuable resources and tools to our Rutherford families.
