Lincoln students had a busy week. The first graders culminated their Around the World unit by making a quilt about holidays and all students shopped for loved ones at the PTA Holiday Boutique. Mrs. Cioffi, Mrs. Monochello, and Mrs. Risoli’s first and second grade classes finished their Gingerbread Man unit of study. Students used a Venn Diagram as well as other graphic organizers, to compare and contrast the different versions of the Gingerbread Man. As a culminating project, Mrs. Cioffi showed the students how to make Gingerbread Playdough. Students had fun playing with the play dough and making ornaments. Mrs. Cioffi, Mrs. Monochello and Mrs Risoli’s reading classes used Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch Who Stole Christmas to learn about making inferences from text. As a culminating activity, Mrs. Monochello showed the students how to make “Grinch” bath fizzies. Students learned about chemical reactions and how to shrink wrap! It was a magical week!
