Meet Ms. Eileen Huelbig, clerical assistant to the Gifted and Talented Program and a friendly face in the main office at Lincoln School. Ms. Huelbig has worked with the GT department for nearly 11 years, collating student data and frequently corresponding with parents. She arranges field trips and program materials and is always on site for GT Learning Fair to make sure student work is prominently displayed and guests are informed of the program.
In addition to assisting with GT programs, Ms. Huelbig works in the main office at Lincoln School. Staff have often positively commented on Ms. Huelbig’s willingness to help out and even share a tea bag! Parents have appreciated her helpful reminders and detailed newsletters. Over the past few years, Ms. Huelbig assisted with the referendum. She maintained meeting notes, distributed materials to the public, and was a liaison to the district’s committee.
“Eileen is the heartbeat of the school,” said Lincoln principal Dr. Jeanna Velechko. “She is often one of the first employees in the building checking on staff coverage and taking calls from parents. She responds to emails on the weekend and is always willing to lend a hand. During the day, Ms. Huelbig helps find lost glasses, missing lunches and even some teeth! Ms. Huelbig’s welcoming nature helps make Lincoln a special place to be.”
Ms. Huelbig raised her children in Rutherford and is proud to call this town her home. She started working with the district 21 years ago as a clerical assistant at Pierrepont School.
