The new year is upon us and 2016 promises to be an exciting one for the Rutherford Schools. Our students are in the midst of an outstanding school year. On every level, students are engaged in project based learning and working on real word challenges. As our Blended Curriculum pilot continues, students are preparing for their future through exciting and productive ways. The excitement is also growing for the school reorganization. Pre-school registration opens on January 19. The development of curriculum for the Upper Elementary at Pierrepont School and the Middle School at Union is nearing completion. Grade K-3 faculty are working together to enhance the reading program at those grade levels. At the high school, new electives and a new bell schedule are being developed. A district -wide Response to Intervention manual is being developed. Building level data analysis teams are working to utilize assessment results to improve curriculum and student achievement. The excitement and anticipation for 2016-17 is growing while the daily success of this school year continues.
