Rutherford students would be positively impacted by the One Rutherford plan on the Sept. 24 ballot. We value the input of all residents in this community, and so we’re urging people to learn about the proposal and take time to vote.
This plan includes classrooms and instructional space to serve an increasing number of students – more than 250 of them over 10 years. It would renovate high school science labs that are almost 50 years old, and add them at Union Middle School where none exist. It addresses facility concerns such as critical maintenance and state and federal standards.
The website www.OneRutherford.com is filled with information about the proposal. Learn more there, and also make note of these important dates:
Sat., Sept. 14: The public is invited to tour some of proposed project sites in person during one-hour time slots: 9 a.m. at Rutherford High School; 10 a.m. at the Kindergarten Center (Sylvan); and 11 a.m. at Union School
Mon., Sept. 16: Hear a full overview of the proposal at the Board of Education meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the RHS Auditorium
Send your Vote By Mail application anytime, but know that the receipt deadline is Tuesday, Sept. 17. This allows time for the ballot to be mailed to you, and for you to mark and return it with postmark by Sept. 24.
Tues., Sept. 24: Vote in person from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Your voting location is listed on the sample ballot sent in the mail. You can also confirm your assigned polling place by entering your address into this state Poll Locator.
